Why Play Paintball?
Good question. A lot of people have seen paintball on television. This is predominantly previewing speedball. When watching that, yea it looks fun and fast paced, but it lacks the military conflict scenario that we enjoy when shooting at each other. Tactics, while always necessary in any good battle, still require the right environment to set the mood and make for realistic war-like combat.
Most of us began playing in small groups of friends. These skirmishes would take place in back yards and small wooded areas. Then in the fall of 2005 our groups met and began holding small rounds of team elimination and capture the flag. Events continued like this throughout the summer of 2006 with scheduled weekly game play. Ultimately this prepared us for Splat Brothers' "WESTERN FRONT" game. An event that lasted for 26 hours and resulted in the founding of the Syndicate which is a group of random paintballers that combine to form a team in larger scale woodsball scenario games. From the Syndicate we've now spawned team M.E.R.C.
Our mission is simple, go, play, win. But let us not forget this is all for fun and the camaraderie of team sports. That being said. Go forth and kick butt.
